He’s gotta finish off the unused portion of the beer.

Don’t you have to make the depth of the beer great enough to drown the slugs? If its too shallow, do they just enjoy wading around in it? It’s been a long time since I’ve tried that trick, but as I recall it works.

This whole notion is foreign to me. It looks like a waste of beer.

for slugs just use the cheapest beer you can find.

The yeasty smell attracts snails and slugs. Non-alcoholic beer works just as well; they get just as dead.

I don’t care about the slugs, we have hedgehogs for that. We use beer and syrup in plastic bottles to drown Asian hornets. They are destroying the honey bees at a fearful rate, and with our neighbours we are killing hundreds of the hornets every year. The bee keeper in our village counted more than a thousand in his traps last year. And he still lost three hives.

They just have to be deep enough to drown, but not too high that it sloshes when placing them
