YES. we’re back to Luke, and his sidekick/possible replacement Kim who are GOING ON AN AIRPLANE TRIP JUST TO GET A BASEBALL PLAYER. This is the kind of bollocks I genuinely missed.
So… The revenge-bent psychopath is flying to Korea to try and recruit a ringer for his baseball team? Either his school is not hurting for money or his wife is going to be really ticked off when she sees the hit on the checking account. An alumnus who really wants to win is financing him?
And what incentive is he going to use to get the kid to move to the US? Or maybe it’s not a kid at all, but a 23 year old who wants MLB in America to hear about him and figures it will be easier if he sneaks in pretending to be a 17 year old high school student.
If they’re just discussing this at the airport, I can only assume that Kim convinced Odious Luke to but a ticket to Seoul without telling him why? “It’s $5000 Kim!” “Trust me, pay for the ticket, I’ll explain at the airport!”
P-1: To everyone’s surprise, Luke’s hat made it through TSA.
P-2: …because he has sent so many batters to the hospital with broken ribs, and no one knows where his next pitch may go.
P-3: While Luke is properly dressed for a Safari, Assistant Coach Kim seems bemused that Luke hasn’t listened to a word he said after “Nightmare”.
Valley Tech can’t rely on blind luck like Milford does. They’ve got to work at getting the unfair advantage. And speaking of advantages, readers of Mopped Up Thorp seem to have an advantage in life over non-readers. Why? No idea.

Isn’t the “Korean Nightmare” what Jami and Keri experienced when they were shipped off to that labor camp?

BHL taking a page from the Gil Thorp playbook on “finding” transfer students?
And is that really a PanAm logo on the tail of that plane at Central City International airport?

Kim is actually related to the North Korea ruler Kims. What a propaganda coup to have a former PAC-12 MVP singing your praises.

I feel like these are questions Luke should have asked /before/ buying plane tickets.
