It might be about there having been no plans or ability to bring the dog back. Laika died out there.

It’s cool that a dog beat man into space. It’s uncool that man left the dog in space.

And people wonder why aliens from space don’t introduce themselves. They’re probably evolved from dogs. ;-)

Reminds me of a great movie that alludes to this, My Life as a Dog. I’ll have to watch that again sometime.

The Soviet Union sent dogs to their death. The US sent a chimp that survived. Died of old age.

Will, they also sent monkeys.

They are in space and never left the kennel…….
