Saleswoman: Hi! My name is Mabel! Cathy: I'm just looking. Saleswoman: Oh, don't worry! I won't hover! I'm not here to help! This is the last you'll see me today! But an hour from now, when you're shrieking for someone to ring you up, I want you to at least have a focal point! So...Remember me: Mabel! Cathy: MABEL!! Saleswoman: Not yet! I'm still in the building! Caption: New for 2001: Personalized lack of service.

A good argument for online shopping. Morning Cathyites. Onward to Tuesday.

Billy was right the other day when he said Cathy’s issues are not entirely self-inflicted. Crazy people all around her. I’m beginning to feel bad for all the stuff I’ve said about her.
Okay, I’m over that now.
Morning Susan when you arrive. Morning lightenup not even close to being here yet. Cap’n sent me home early because my [pollen?] allergy is in full force. He and my crew estimated 45 sneezes in 10 minutes - a new record in our station. Me and my puffy eyes are going to hide under the covers. Hullo fellow Cathyites :)

^ Hmmm, my formatting went crazy. Must be an errant dash there somewhere.

Boy, things sure haven’t changed much in 11 years. Salespeople seems to be everywhere except for when I need them.Good morning, nightowls Billy and Aaron! I agree, Billy… I love online shopping much more than in-person shopping. The only thing I willingly buy in person is clothing. Other than that, there are some things I like to see in person to check out the quality, but that’s mostly it. Amazon Prime is like a drug addiction. Anytime I need a fix, it’s right there… LOL!I hope your allergies get better soon, Aaron! Oddly enough, I’ve been okay this year. I never had allergies growing up, but eventually got them after moving to Atlanta. Pollen is bad here. In fact, a couple of days ago we had a record pollen count of over 9,000, where anything over 100 is considered high. I had a mild headache and that was it. Anyway, I hope you feel better soon.Hello to GsMom, KFG, rgcviper, lindz.coop, hendelca, Mona, serenasakitty, kittycatpawsare, soonergal and all the other Cathy nuts rolling around here today! On a personal note, HAPPY 9th BIRTHDAY TO LIGHTENUP JR!My sweet girl came into our lives 9 years ago today, and she has been a constant source of delight and amazement ever since. ♥♥♥♥

@ lindz.coop – From yesterday… her issue is mostly that she loves being a kid so much that she doesn’t want to get older. Part of it is probably because I’ve been giving her more responsibilities recently, saying that it’s time she starts doing more because she’s almost 9. Sure, we’d all like the freedom and independence that comes with getting older without having to deal with the responsibilities, but that’s not going to happen in my house.@ kittycatpawsare – Thanks for your birthday wishes from yesterday! You’re so sweet! :-)

@lightenup: And yet, for every one of those salesclerks, I guarantee you that I can show you at least five customers who will say, "Oh, no thanks, I’m just browsing today — and then walk out of the store without buying anything! So, I can see where the salesclerk is coming from!

The greatest thing about online shopping (in addition to price, of course) is taking your time to find what you want with no salesperson hovering over you … and most do hover because they are instructed to do so. Drives me nuts!

I know lightenup looked like this avatar when we met her. Aaron and I, probably for obvious reasons, thought she was a he. So does lightenup jr assume the identity and carry on the tradition instead?

lightenup you are right about Amazon Prime. In fact, we ordered two items on Sunday and one yesterday. All three arrived this morning before 10:00. My mom renews our subscription each year.
Reminder that friend Aaron (who is now at work) is leaving for a training trip tomorrow for a week. He took his laptop so he’ll try to check in.
rgcviper Aaron was happy to make you smile yesterday re: your ‘mind explosion’. :-) Hello fellow Cathyites. Off to play basketball for a while.

Sooo, what, exactly, is Mabel offering to Cathy? Doesn’t look like much service, so maybe … sanity? Psh—yeah, right!
Thanks for the info, Billy. Hello to all the “Cathy” nuts as always.

Wow, what a busy day! It almost feels like the craziness I felt 9 years ago when I first realized that another human being is totally reliant on me. Okay, maybe not as serious, but I still feel like I’ve been through the wringer.THANK YOU to everyone who kindly wished lightenup jr. a happy birthday! She loves the comics as much as I do, and she thinks it’s so awesome that my comics friends are talking to her. :-)You are hilarious, Billy!! How did you find that? But you’re right, that is my original avatar, my old standby. Are you saying that I should create a login for her to use under my supervision? She’d love that. Have a good trip, Aaron! Since you’re back at work, I hope that means your allergies aren’t so bad for now. Allergies sure do stink when they hit hard.I guess Susan, gmforde and I will be the morning crew for the next couple of days. I make no promises while I’m on my vacation… ;-)

Hi Cathyites!! I’ve always felt that if I want a sales person, I can probably find one — tho some of the big box stores do make it harder. I always figure that probably the “hovering” is more a theft deterrent than an effort to help anyone.
Yo fellow allergy sufferers — the shots really do work. It was like a miracle for me.
