Yes, it is up, thanks to the greedy gougers. The corporate Democrats aren’t helping either. How ironic now that inflation has dropped, this cartoon appeared. Harry Truman, we need you to hit back at the corporate state. Yes, the economy could be worse: Nixonomics, Reaganomics, Schrubomics, and Drumpfomics.
Politicians love to deflect and blame others to avoid discussing the misery of the unwashed masses. Love to bash corporations as greedy thugs with nothing but profit motives. But if that were true, all those whiners need do is start a competing corporation with non-profit motives and take market share from the thugs.
But the last thing they want is to have you think about the effects of big government spending.
Keep beating the drum long after all the neighbors have headaches. Inflation is easing, unemployment is down, wages are up, my portfolio is doing very well. life is good. Apocalypse not.
So I looked this claim up because, well, it’s Goodwyn. The nearest I came was to something called “Trimmed Mean CPI”. After spending a bit trying to understand what it means I gave up. It’s one tortured statistic. I take comfort in knowing that Goodwyn probably couldn’t explain it to me either.
It’s crap anyway. His comic relies on the correlation is causation fallacy. The fact that inflation rose while Biden is president does not mean he had anything to do with it. The fact is the entire world is struggling with inflation and the US is actually doing pretty well comparatively. Of course Biden will get no credit for that.
Inflation is the lowest it has been in 2 years. Inflation was global and much was caused by price-gouging from fossil fuel companies making record profits and some companies charging far more in increased pricing than their costs, RWNJ Repubs blocked any attempts to control price gouging.
Stocks are UP.
Consumer costs are rising, but much more slowly than wages.
But Al’s statements continue to fall into the sewer.

Badwyn is just trying to distract from the fact that inflation is way down, and still dropping.
He’ll be crying about “no jobs” next. Funny, there’s help wanted signs EVERYWHERE here.

The only people I’ve seen celebrating inflation are alt-rights. They love it as a talking point.

Year-to-year inflation dropped for the 11th straight month. The country is at full employment. The stock market is rising. Interest rates have slowed.
What is it you want?
