I’ve hiked this part of the JMT, and now I want to see the cemetery near Dr Mr. Spaetzle’s house.

Actually, walking 3.2 miles a day would be pretty good exercise.

Weather here in 90’s with 70% humidity. Walking 3.2 blocks is very hard. And, as expected, July is breaking all records for the 4th or 5th year. Oh, fun.

Is the John Muir Trail on Google Street View? It’s much easier to “walk” it that way.

Evoked the smells of the meadow. But that might be because you were on the path through the park where everyone walks their dogs.

Urban hiking // walking can be great too. The book Rooted, by Lyanda Lynn Haupt, really got me going on my little one square mile around my hooch. Lots to see and observe even with the blight you also encounter. -BTW Cemeteries are great to walk in, and read the hic jacets. PrairyErth: (a Deep Map) by United Statesian author William Least Heat-Moon got me going on that topic. Jef GREAT CARTOONING Illustration and story-line

Tuolumne Meadows is a great spot! I used to bring my telescope down from Reno for the public to look at stuff.

There’s a thing called The Conqueror Challenge where you can virtually hike anywhere, follow your progress with Google maps, swap stories and support with fellow “hikers,” and earn nice (real) badges. I wouldn’t want to do a lot of them (gets too expensive) but I did The Ring of Kerry, and that was fun. The company plants real trees in different countries with profits, in case you’re wondering.

I’d like to virtually hike on a low gravity planet.
