Coming Soon đ At the beginning of April, youâll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
When my nephew was very young and he said âUh-oh!â, my sister would ask âWhat dâyou do?â. I went to lunch with them on one visit. A man in the next booth said âUh-ohâ and my nephew looked over the seat and, quite clearly, asked him âWhat dâyou do?â âș
If this came from an IRL observation, it was probably an example of a childâs learning a spoken language by repeating and getting a reaction to the phrases it hears most clearly and frequently. Thereâll be another one next month. This is also how words trend in mass media, get overused, and become dated. Iâm still waiting for âyâknowâ to die back, though.

That kid is just parroting his/her diaper changing person whose portent consists mostly of an abundance of boom-boom.

OMG, how ironic. As I was reading this comic, I had an episode of 7th Heaven on the TV and one of the little twins said âUh-oh.â

It is disconcerting, no doubt, but it is nice to have fair warning. Thanks Uh-Oh Baby!
