Probably for the best, 11 fingers would be hard to achieve.

Schroeder. Buddy. How many of those 17 pitches can Charlie Brown actually throw with any measure of competency?

The purpose of that meeting was to throw off the other team.

Fifteen fingers? You gonna call in the shortstop?

Let’s be honest, Schroeder. We all know that Charlie Brown only has one pitch that he can throw—the slow straight ball that gets slugged all over the field by the opposing hitters.

Pitchers never bring full-sized sandwiches to the game, only sliders.

I’ve followed baseball for over 50 years and never heard of a pitch called a “duster”. Must have been more common in an earlier era.

It’s not like the outcome of the game would’ve changed anyway.

Of course they use signals to convince the other team Charlie Brown knows what he’s throwing.

That’s what the dude standing behind the catcher is for — extra fingers.

Back in the day before time clocks, pitchers would sometimes “shake off” a pitch if they disagreed on which kind of pitch is to be thrown. In one case, a pitcher shook off every pitch suggested by the catcher. The catcher called time and met with the pitcher on the mound. “What are you doing?” “I’m hoping it will start raining before I have to throw the next pitch.”

I am wondering if baseball will continue to change their rules. We now have quite a number of players from various countries and for them English is not their primary language. Do you think they’ll allow interpreters for those on the mound conferences?

If he has all those pitches, I’m surprised he doesn’t have a better win-loss record. To my recollection they lose nearly all their games.
