I am not making this up. The mother of a former student of a colleague of mine when on a job interview with him. He didn’t get the job.

Must be a start-up, humans are doing the first screening of the application.
Employers who consider employees as “headcount” & just another expense to manage really can’t expect much in the way of employee loyalty.
I think 90% of the time people never read a cover letter, or thank you for the interview letter
Pretty sure you can develop that attitude by putting 10 years in at any company.
