The funny thing is, it seems like the exact opposite is true: The warmer it is, the less advanced the countries are. Most third-world or developing nations are tropical, most advanced nations are temperate.

This explains EVERYTHING! The old guys are just cranky!

He certainly sounds like he’s tanked.

With global warming, us Canadians are now frozen only 5 months of the year.

As a good Canadian I resemble that remark.

as someone who’s lived 40+ years in the Canadian prairies I can say this is a rare occasion that the Buckster is somewhat correct. (it just doesn’t apply to the whole country)

Bucky certainly doesn’t consider himself uncertain.

Someone once said (it’s debated whether it was Mark Twain, Josh Billings, Artemus Ward or one of a dozen others) “It ain’t what you don’t know that gets you into trouble. It’s what you know for sure that just ain’t so.” That certainly applies to Bucky.

That ending line is a winner.

Speaking as a Canadian, I’m functional far less than six months of the year…

There is a very old joke about the “Canada culture lag”.

“What was the #1 top ten hit in Canada when ‘Wake Up Little Susie’ was #1 in the U.S.?”

“No one knows but six months later it was ‘Wake Up Little Susie’.”

It takes a lot more innovation and engineering to live in a very cold environment year round!!

Wouldn’t Florida be considered a warm place? Not exactly a modern civilization now; definitely taking “a bit of a lie down,” living in the 1950s.
