My battalion was sailing from Japan back to Okinawa when we hit a storm. We were in an LST, which has a flat bottom. That ship was doing some crazy stuff. I saw one Marine who was almost as green as his uniform. What a time.
I’m going to spare you the description of my crossing the English Channel on a ferry during some violent sea storm. Suffice it to say that it belongs on the ninth circle of hell in Dante’s Inferno.
