    Yes. They are the ones who get bullied, injured, and sometimes killed.

    The other side only imagines they are being hurt, but really it’s just all the fearmongering that gets them riled up against an enemy they don’t even know.

    Well at least aside from now knowing that they are in a political war they know they have to get involved and fight. No longer can they remain silent, ignorant and apathetic or expect others to fight their battles.

    HCR gives us this timely reminder:

    Opponents of these new civil rights protections quickly began to object that such decisions were “legislating from the bench,” rather than permitting state legislatures to make their own laws. They began to call for “originalism,” the idea that the Constitution should be interpreted only as the Framers had intended when they wrote it, an argument that focused on the creation of law at the state level. Famously, in 1987, President Ronald Reagan nominated Robert Bork, an originalist who had called for the rollback of the Supreme Court’s civil rights decisions, for a seat on that court.

    Reacting to that nomination, Senator Ted Kennedy (D-MA) recognized the importance of the Fourteenth Amendment to equality: “Robert Bork’s America is a land in which women would be forced into back-alley abortions, blacks would sit at segregated lunch counters, rogue police could break down citizens’ doors in midnight raids, schoolchildren could not be taught about evolution, writers and artists could be censored at the whim of the Government, and the doors of the Federal courts would be shut on the fingers of millions of citizens for whom the judiciary is—and is often the only—protector of the individual rights that are the heart of our democracy….”

    Society is still paying the price for shamefully allowing the christian community to violate the rights and dignity of people not them for so long. We will not allow them to continue to do so with the LGBTQ+ community.

    I believe humans are born with an innate need to feel superior to other humans. That’s why it’s important to live in the right neighborhood, to be seen in the right nightclubs, to drive the right car…That’s why sports exist, so that I can tell you my team is better than yours, even though all I did for the team was buy a t-shirt.

    And religion provides cover for your bigotry. My book tells me that some people are not godly, and that I am able to discriminate against them because of it. And my book says you can’t stop me, because I believe what’s in it, and so should you.

    Repubs were having a hard time just being racist, they needed to find another marginalized group to attack, to continue dividing the USA and keep their base fearful of things that should not be feared. They are the party of divide and conquer, going against Lincoln’s advise not to divide the nation.

    Yeah, I know, a bunch of Repub cultists are going to comment that I’m the one being divisive, by not accepting their divisiveness. Insane, right?
