It’s more than a month until school starts here in much of Pennsylvania. My local school district starts the first day of classes on the day that school should start, Tuesday, September 5, 2023.

In much of the US, public schools start classes the day after Labor Day. I’ve read reports of places where they start earlier — mid-August?, — but I’ve never lived any of those places.

And she’s back. ; )

Good to see her normal love of school over summer return, just in time.

I moved a lot as a kid, and usually had different dates. Our state made it illegal to have school start any earlier than August 26. They said it was because the ocean businesses lost too much in profit the year prior. We loved that time. I was able to visit my mom in Arizona in late My for the first time. The idiots here don’t understand how bad it was for the central area. It has unhealthy heat indexes almost the entire month of August. But sure just care about the counties on the shore-businesses whose main income was tourists from OUTSIDE the state.

Nice to see a character that likes school, likes to learn!

Doing the Old Fashioned Melodrama with a couple sets of incoming college freshmen and their parents. Freshman move-in is in about two weeks.
