I JUST love it when the strip writers have the courage to take their characters on a vacation! I think Fred’s vacations are usually the most interesting – he seems to manage to go somewhere new every year, and do even more interesting things every year. So far this year, Ruthie’s One Big Happy have taken a drive out in the country, Momma Hobbs, Cathy and even Andy and Flo Capp have made a trip to the seashore, For Better or Worse folks had Dad and Michael take a trip to try to find a place for Michael to live when he heads off to college, Red and Rover have taken a walk in the woods, The Drabble folks have been hanging out at the pool, the Peanuts kids are spending time a camp, The Family Circus took in the County Fair, the Bumsteads packed for a picnic in the country, the Lockhorns went fishing, Arlo and Janis are spending time with their son and his family and enjoying some romantic time at Gene’s father-in-law’s seaside condo, Snuffy Smith’s pal, Barney Goog;e, returned to Hoot N Holler for the Pickle Ball Tournaments, Hagar and Horrible took his family with him when he raided Italy, LuAnn’s Friend Tiffany has Steffy’s hunky boyfriend Kip staying at her pool house while Bets and Gunther decided to take a summer road trip in a revamped family camper. But I think Fred has them all beat for the most unusual vacation experiences so far.
I had a wonderful time in Llandudno yesterday. I walked along the pier twice and I enjoyed an ice cream both times. Thanks again to the four people who all wished me a lovely time when I announced on Wednesday that I might be missing a day from Go Comics because of my day trip.
Referring again to my trip to Llandudno yesterday, I already knew that it was named after the Church of Saint Tudno but I saw that there is a Saint Tudno’s Drive and a Tudno’s Castle there.
Okay, I know that he has to face toward the rear since he is rowing, but why is she also facing that way? I would think she would want to face forward to see where they are going.

Aww Fred…never look at the water from the boat, always look at the shore, you won’t get seasick. Feel better sweet Fred.

The Dears should have given Fred some doggie-Dramamine before he boarded the boat.
