Tony Bennett didn’t sing my kind of music… and he sure did it very well!

He was wonderful. Absolutely wonderful. The last of the old time music singers.

He never stopped doing what he loved. Heck, I never would have guessed he would even perform with Lady Gaga as late as 2021, but I even love those two albums. I keep his catalog in regular rotation along with all my favorites like Frank, Dino, Sammy, Julie London and many others.

Whether you like/enjoy/appreciate his genre or not (most people today do not) – the guy had pipes – an incredible singer. Certainly stood out in his class…and in R’n’R terms, he’s in the same class – top-shelf, and certainly head/shoulders/torso above most pop/rock hacks (won’t name names, to avoid a flame-war).

This SF native finds this bank commercial the best video for his best IMHO song. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JCMj2U3xj7s

I saw him live with his daughter about 10 years ago; he was @86. Still had that voice, still a handsome man. Didn’t need gyrating dancers, fireworks, LV stage sets and loud music. Just a voice that most singers today could only dream about. That’s pretty much true of most of the singers before the 70s.
