    I worked at a recycling center for five years. Once in a blue moon someone would come in that I suspect couldn’t read. But they wouldn’t tell you that. They would just ask questions about the fees rather than read the information. They had a specific way of asking so you couldn’t just say “read this, it’s all right there”.

    Some people can’t read. Some people don’t process written information well, but do auditory information. Normally, I’m in on these comics that call out people for being ignorant to retail workers. However, this smacks of the retail worker being ignorant and less than kind.

    My dad got a computer in his mid 70s. The wheel, lever, and inclined plane were a mystery to him. He signed up for an adult school class in Word Perfect for Windows. He got a refund because they required knowledge of Windows.
