While still learning golf, I had the habit of topping the ball, so one day I mounted the ball on quite a high tee. I took the shot and then looked for it in the air. I couldn’t see it anywhere and thought ’blimey I really hit that one!" It then landed right in front of me. I must have done a good stroke that time and came right under the high tee and it went straight up. So yes, it did go straight, but not sure if 6" forwards counts
