All the other souls on the road that would be in danger if he were actually behind the wheel are now eternally grateful for this.
But then again as I only use my licence to prove I am old enough [despite the balding white hair] to buy alcohol [I don’t need to own a car in this city].
This is another strip which reminds me of one of my favourites. It was the one where Andy agreed to be interviewed for the post of bus driver as he would be paid for sitting down:
There was an Archie comic; Archie and Jughead were delivering pizzas for Pop Tate. A big pie, pepperoni, cheezie, warm, and smelly, to be delivered to Mrs. XYZ. Three minutes into the delivery, Jughead eats the whole thing, buys another, 3 minutes, eats and buys, repeat. Archie tells Pop that the Mrs. XYZ is not getting her pizza, Pop “there is no Mrs. XYZ”

Andy could deliver it one pint at a time, but he would probably filter it…

Interviewer: Do you drink, Mr Capp?
Andy: Since you’re offering, I’ll have a pint.

It may be just as well that Andy can’t legally drive. Otherwise the beer truck would probably end up in the canal.

Just as well, the last thing we need is another drunk driver.

Even if Andy had a license, he wouldn’t take the job because he’d have to unload the beer and take it into the pubs, i.e. work!
