Hammie I agree. There’s something wrong with your sister.

Oh, you never want to get one of your older sibling’s teachers. Just ask any of my younger sibs.

I get enough school while I’m there, don’t need it in the comics!

Well, it is that time of year.

I’m lucky that only once did I get one of my older brother’s teachers and yeah the teacher thought I’d be a smart aleck like my brother. I was nothing like him so soon the teacher had to allow me to be myself and not just my brother’s sister who was nothing like him.

I have some nieces who went to the same school before my kids, when my kids, went there the teacher said, “Oh no, your related to THEM?” !

Poor Wren she is going to have both Zoe and Hammy preceding her.

The one time I got a big reaction from being recognized as a younger sibling (not counting college) was from a science teacher who had already taught my older brother and sister about biology. He didn’t want to discuss creationism anymore, so he just stipulated that if I answered the questions right, it would just show I knew the material and didn’t necessarily believe all of it. Oh well, missed out on some interesting conversations. I never had a problem with the basic theory; it was the gross extrapolation and the “dating” I’ve never been able to accept.

That confirms that Zoe is not in her right mind as no sane student asks for extra homework!

Y’know, couple-a years ago, I had the idea that Hammie was better academically than Zoe. Could’a shifted his point of view…

That second panel is unrealistic. A teacher who’s been in the teaching business for that amount of time is not going to be jubilant over giving out extra homework, even if she does thoroughly enjoy her job.

It’d be a hassle for her to to assign extra homework for a student who’s already doing well.

Plus, Zoe being such a kissup would be low-key sus to a teacher of her age. Like, who, besides Zoe, asks for extra homework?

I was that student until the system broke me.

It’s very distracting seeing two pupils on one eyeball.

From math work quite often it only had you go part way through the exercises so for fun you could just do the the ones that were further along. They were more interesting as they got harder.

I’m forever grateful that my older sibling set a low bar ;P

My sisters started school first and they were ideal students. Then brother Art who was tolerable. Then brother Tom who was a terror. 2 years later it was me and they expected another Tom.

I used to love getting ready for the new school year…getting new pencils and pens and various notebooks, erasers, bookcovers, etc.

Then it was all downhill after that…

Only Zoe.

Hammie better be afraid, very afraid

My elementary school teachers and principal all but begged my parents to skip me a grade. My parents asked me and I said no… why? Because then I’d be in my older sister’s grade.

My third grade teacher was one my whole family seemed to share. My next oldest brother was so scared of her that he didn’t want to tell her he was feeling sick until he spewed all over the table the class was working at.

Zoe is a little kissass. “Extra homework” indeed!

Yeah, I’m the Zoe of my family.
