I swear Francis is on his worst run ever, it’s like Peirce wants us to be annoyed. Like, it doesn’t feel like a funny joke since Nate’s done nothing to earn this. Just kinda feel bad for the guy while these two laugh it up about that. Unnecessarily mean or weirdly ignorant, idk, but… eh?

In my country, writing a letter to someone using red ink means wishing that person death. That gives Mrs. Godfrey’s mistake-correcting red pens a much darker meaning

Do any teachers buy chalk anymore? Don’t they all have whiteboards or SmartBoards now? I suppose in super rural or poor areas they’re using really old setups, but Nate’s school seems pretty modern.

Mr. Fratt (who learned early on in his career to make fun of himself to the students) used green pens. He said that in his schooling, he learned that by using green was better, it pointed out the mistakes w/o the defeatist feeling some students would otherwise feel. And less mistakes were made because of it.

That amount of pens ought to get her through the first week ;P

One pen would do, IMO. They last a long, long time nowadays.

Speaking of pens, I preferred to use a pen with green or purple… depending if the kids used that color. I hated that red color on my papers when I was a kid.

One pen is for the whole class, the rest is for Nate
