I had to lock the door whenever I took a bath when Lucia was still alive; that cat would jump in every single time. I didn’t lock her out whilst showering, though. I had a 1920 Tudor with an inexplicably huge shower stall, which had enough space for her to slip past the curtain, and fun several laps around my feet, making this weird panting sound the whole time. Then she’d go sit in front of the radiator and spend some time licking all of the water off, before stretching out on the shower mat and taking a nap. That house also had under floor heating in the bathroom, she loved that room the most. It had been the gatehouse for an estate that burned down in 1930, can’t imagine the wealth of the original owners to build a simple gatehouse with features like walk-in closets, each with a window, and a 15×20 sleeping porch (later converted to a bedroom).

And I still have the ceramic box they made from this cartoon, during the “everything Kliban” era. It’s still on display with my other treasures. .

I love the bathroom floor. Do you suppose that it is tile or linoleum?
