We were having a blast dancing at a wedding reception several years ago. I was singing along to the song that was playing when my friend, a Church elder, approached me, put his ear to my mouth to indicate he needed to understand the lyrics. I said “Funky”, he nodded with an “Ah!” expression and we went back to boogying to “Play That Funky Music White Boy!”
Love the three generation interaction. Something I never had as a kid. So I made certain my children KNEW and interacted with both sets of grandparents. They have lots of memories.
Wait, Pop-pop and Grammom couldn’t have met during the time of disco and the Bump; they’re old, but I remember when … OH. Excuse me, I’d better go take some Geritol and have a nap.

If superhero movies have taught us anything, it’s how important the origin story is.

The bump works best if your bump(s) line up with the other person’s bump(s).

Born to lose, I’ll compete with Pops in vain,
Every time I tried was a time I lost again
Their meeting tale is just too good and true,
Born to lose and once more I’ll lose to you.
