Leaves holding their breath will only make matters worse.

Leaves are falling where I live right now.

Going on strike in these bad times we are going though is not a good idea.

Hold your breath until your face turns green. That should do it.

Anthropogenic climate change is not proven. Climate change happens, plenty of proof of that with ice ages, warm periods and all. But the proof that the activities of human civilization is having an impact, is simply not there. (So now, instead of showing me proof, (real proof), go ahead and hurl your insults at me).

Why do the leaves want the CO2 to fall? Plants rely on CO2, and release O2 (which animals rely on). If the CO2 falls too much, the plants are in danger.

Everyone, please Google “Optimum CO2 levels for plants”. It varies by plant, but for most cultivated plants, the optimum is reached above 1000 ppm. Somewhere above that (perhaps 1800 ppm) photosynthesis starts declining, depending on the plant, again. As far as plants are concerned, we live in a CO2-poor atmosphere. This is why greenhouses open windows during the day, or add CO2 during the day, to promote and not stunt plant growth. Our current levels of CO2 have gone from 300 to 400 ppm in the last century. Boosting CO2 to 700 ppm would increase plant growth by 30-40%.
