The Republican Party created a monster.

They thought they could control it.

They thought they could use it to devour their adversaries.

Turns out, they had just as much success controlling their monster as a couple of fictional doctors named Frankenstein and Jekyll.

Mitt is a Mormon. Mormons believe they will take over the U.S. and establish a Mormon theocracy. They don’t talk about the idea but it goes back to Joseph Smith in Nauvoo IL.

Now if he will only convince the other Republican Congress people who disagree with the far right but have gone along with them to join him. Vote with the Democrats to keep the government from defaulting, from shutting down, from being destroyed from within. It is on them to save our nation from collapsing into autocracy.

Don’t be fooled by Mitt’s words. His votes to impeach were merely stunts, because he knew there was no way Trump would be convicted. He’s only trying to put a little polish on his reputation as he heads into retirement. He knows that if he would seek another term in the Senate, he’d get beaten in his primary by some far more reactionary GQP KKKlown.

Romney is a multimillionaire. He can say and do anything he wants. It really doesn’t affect him. Spinelessand gutless.

Reading the article about Mitch in The Atlantic will give pause those who think and who love this country. To the 70 million Trump voters from 2020 it will mean that Mitch and his family should be harassed, maybe murdered. Hopefully the other 230 million people in this country are the thinkers.

I started out as Republican, but Reagan’s far-right social policies caused me to vote 3rd party twice. I still voted GOP in Congress elections, until they impeached Clinton for lying about getting a hummer- not exactly the “high crime” the Constitution meant. I quit voting GOP for any GOP candidate over a decade ago when they began using govt to force citizens to follow their GOP beliefs and take away the rights of citizens. Today, no true American could call themself a Republican.

“The Republican Party created a monster.

They thought they could control it." Thanks, DDWiz

The party was sure that he would “pivot”, and “become presidential” as soon as he assumed office.

Let’s not forget Paul Ryan, explaining away the immediate outrageousness, the lies, and the nastiness, assured us that he was just getting used to the job.

Susan Collins, after voting to acquit after the first impeachment, told us she was sure he had learned his lesson.

I don’t remember who said this out loud, but the party strategy at the beginning of the Big Lie was, “let him have his fun for a while; what harm can that do?”

When your kid breaks everything in your house, your next move shouldn’t be to just buy more breakable things.

Mr. Romney is another in a long line of people who waited way too late to do what was right. But, to be fair, look at what happened to those who became aware and spoke up, like Michael Cohen and Liz Cheney. For today’s Republican party, no good deed goes unpunished is not just a good idea: it’s the law.

‘Stupid’: Idaho Republican slams colleagues for being ‘dumb enough’ to shut down government

The United States government is headed toward a shutdown thanks to infighting and dysfunction among Republicans in the House of Representatives.Politico reports that there is some dismay among some House Republicans over the way that things are headed.

Get out a sheet of graph paper. Plot quality on the vertical axis and time on the horizontal. Enter data points for these: Eisenhower, Goldwater, Nixon, Ford, Reagan, Dole, Bush the Adequate, Bush the Lesser, McCain, Romney, Trump. Perform a regression analysis. Discuss.
