Some of those “antiques,” I wouldn’t pay $10 for. I wonder how many people are badly disappointed when they put their items in for auction, expecting to get the amount the TV host suggested?

I’ve seen that show a few times. The appraiser ALWAYS asks the person who brings the item in, “How much do YOU think the item is worth?” If I was there, and the appraiser asked me that, I would respond, “I don’t know! If That’s why I brought it in!!!”

If the Shoe fits ….

I always enjoyed the British [original] version, where antiques could be really antique. And, when the expert would ask about the item’s provenance, the guest would often say, my grandfather/mother/etc. worked for Lord X/Lady Y and was given this item when he/she retired . . . I always wonder if the ‘gift’ was intentional or accidental.

Maybe America’s Got Talent. It reminds us of the Ed Sullivan show.

I liked Trading Spaces, Ground Force, and Junkyard Wars.

I don’t know. Aren’t most of the HGTV shows :reality TV? I think our TV is stuck there since it’s all my wife watches
