At least the rooks have pretty blunt edges. It’s the bishops that you need to watch out for.

She could be in for a Rough Knight…

Worse yet — stabbed by a bishop or stompled by a knight.

NPR recently had a story about a chess champion who used vibrating beads to receive help during a game. True story. I’ll leave it to you to guess how the beads were hidden.

I seem to recall that the “rook in the eye-socket” scenario was used in the book, The Eiger Sanction.

A chess-playing robot broke the finger of its 7-year-old opponent, July 2022. A helmet may not be the right protective gear.

Definitely a rookie.

There can be no doubt that a chess game played by Agnes would be interesting to watch……from a distance.

i was too small for contact chess so i only ever played touch. no helmet needed…

If anyone needs a chess safety hat it would be Agnes…
