Seems to me like Wallace has all the affirmation he needs right now, Mom.

(But it’s the thought that counts, and a nice thought at that.)

You’re just now finding that out!

It’s OK, Mrs. Maclellan – you came out early, and you focused on your goal of education. I’m proud of you.

Oh, but if there’s a kid that has soaked in some of that motherly advice…it’s Wallace. His gems of wisdom he spouts from time to time warm a Moms heart.

Apparently, Wallace has the attention span of a seagull, and vice versa.

Yup. Been there. At both ends.

How did they know it was my birthday?!

Mom’s got some unusually long arms. Her elbows are at her hip height.

Well, that’s what happens when praise sounds more like a lecture. I’m well past my childhood (my wife might disagree here) and I’d ignore her too.

Every day is somebody’s birthday!

I wanna know whose birthday it is.

Won’t be the last time. Happy Birthday to those that have it today also….

Aaaaaand I sent this one to my son.

Sometimes they just have to learn for themselves. Words of wisdom means more when they discover it for themselves. But don’t stop sharing your own widsom.

I can see why Wallace would be excited. Can’t remember the last time I saw anything made of red glass…

At about 20 to 30 years old, your kids start spouting your words of wisdom as though you’d never heard them.

Wait a couple more decades. They’ll eventually come around.

Who is the Happy Birthday for?

So much wisdom, so few ears.

They won’t, Mom, not until years later.

They’re rushing to save a sea turtle from that balloon, Mom. Be proud!

Wallace and Seagull just have to chase the balloon.
