It’s nice to see people enjoying Halloween. I’ve gone full circle. Loved it as a kid, hated it as a young adult living on my own for the first time (didn’t want to have to answer the door and couldn’t afford candy for treats) and then thoroughly enjoyed it as a parent. My kids are long since grown and I’m living in a country where it’s only sort of celebrated, but last year I got a special request from a colleague form Germany whose kids wanted to try trick or treating, to be the destination. It was great! Wished I’d suggested it to several other parents. She moved last summer so don’t expect any visitors this year. Oh well. And I even have some candy left!

I’m sure I said this last year. I love Sir Dudley being between a Roc and a hard place……….

Very clever and creative pun on the Peanuts reference. I would never have thought of it.

I’ve been considering giving rocks as a choice over candy. But the rocks I’ll be giving are fossils.

One thing I hate about living in the country, no trick or treaters. We’ve been here twenty years and haven’t had twenty kids knock on our door.
At least I get all the candy!

Poor Sir Dudley. I suppose he gets a lump of coal at Christmas.
If it were at least Roc candy…

Eat the sushi while it’s fresh. What do you feed a Roc?

Didn’t the Peanuts kids shout, “Tricks or treats”?

What? Do you need to hand out culturally matching candy? Matching to the costume or the person wearing the costume? :)

Magnificent!

First kid to show up in a red tie gets the whole bowl of candy while I lock the doors and turn out the lights. Too scary for me.

Sir Dudley has a knockdown punchline today.
But the rest of the gang looks so very merry!

How do you get an entire Sushi Bar into that little bag?
The Sushi Chef alone …
