We sold our house in 1968, needed to do a final once over before giving the keys to the new owners. We pretty much had emptied the house when we got a call from a vacuum salesman offering to vacuum our home as a demonstration. Sure, come on over! We got the carpets vacuumed and the drapes vacuumed. Told him we had to think about buying because it was a big purchase. Of course the next day the phone was disconnected and we moved out of state. Sure the new owners appreciated the cleanliness.
