That waning crescent moon is out right before dawn. Rose must be an early riser.

Squirrels aren’t awake at night. And I’ve never known any to bother trash cans. They love bird feeders. Raccoons are up at night, and they’ll go after trash cans, but they like the bird feeders too.

If you think his eyes are big now, wait until he sees Peekaboo crouching at her feet!

many years ago I lived in a basement apartment. I broke a glass and carefully cleaned it up and put it in the garbage bin. A little later I heard a clatter from the bin and there were two racoons in t. I was worried they might cut themselves on the glass so i turned on the flood light, didn’t bother them.

I opened the door and yelled.

no nly didn’t it bother them they looked at me with faces that clearly said “we’re dining now, you can have the table when we’re through.”there was no anger or anything just ‘what does he thing he;s doing?’I finally got them out by poking their rumps with a sword. even then they weren’t hostile.

You’re going to have to be sneakier, Murphy…this is two days in a row that Rose has caught on to you!

If you mix ammonia and water in a spray bottle and spray the lid of the trash can or trash bag, animals will leave it alone.

That moon is in the sky once a month when I do my Garbage Moment, that is how I know that it happens just before dawn. circa 5 AM.
