And 20 feet of snow in Texas. Ain’t life grand.

Went from 80 degrees to 40 overnight here. Scary that we’ve broken record highs multiple days in a row.

Santa Ana event tomorrow here in SoCal, but just a mild one—winds only 35 mph, humidity 15-20 pct, and temps only mid 80s; then mid 70s the rest of the week. Typical October. Unfortunately, I had my roof shingles removed today—the roofers will get to work in that hot, dry, windy weather, poor guys; I hope they hydrate thoroughly.

It was 80 degrees in my neighborhood yesterday. Overnight was 67. Temps are now dropping and tge high will only be 67 this afternoon. Expecting low to mid 60’s and 40’s at night. Yup, cold air is finally coming in. Just in time for the holidays.

This is worse than I anticipated.

Everyone talks about the weather, but no one does anything about it.

I’m worried about looking back from the end of summer 2024 and thinking “Compared to this, summer 20223 wasn’t all that bad.”

Below freezing here, not ‘normal’ but no record.

Here in east Tennessee, high will be 82 today and 58 on Tuesday. Freeze warning for Monday and Tuesday nights. Yep… the weather is perfectly normal. /s

2023 will be about 0.5 degrees hotter on average. That is a 20-year jump in ONE YEAR. Welcome to the start of chaos.

I never complain about the heat because I remember cold and long winter is.

Winter is off to a normal start here. I’m waiting for the other shoe to drop and the glaciers start forming downtown.

…and away we go
