My mother could yell at us to get up until she was out of breath. My father would very quietly tell my brother and me only once that it was time to get out of bed … and we were up like a shot!

This is a nicer approach than one’s dad encouraging the family dog (a Rottie) to “wake up the baby”. Haha!
