My wife always complains that I talk too loud. I tell her that after working for forty-one years in an industrial setting, that is my normal volume. It is difficult to remember to turn it down.
No, but I have answered the remote thinking it was the phone (way back in cordless landline days) and been frustrated with the reception until I figured it out.. True story!!
I get a kick outta people on their cell, yelling into the phone, and also not realizing that it’s also set to speakerphone with the volume on high, so you hear the whole conversation with them yelling at each other! Lol!!
You would have thought by now (at her age) she would figure out that MOBILE phones means you can go to a different room. I’d be hard pressed to not turn the TV volume up to screech levels.
Wife gets annoyed when I turn the tv volume up to hear over her phone on speaker phone. A couple weeks ago I had to put my phone on speaker phone to hear someone. That’s when I realized why she has her phone on speaker phone. I thought it was to annoy me.

There are two such in my house that can drown out a circus barker.

In our house, miming using a remote to lower the volume is the understood signal for family members to lower their voices.

When my sister in law calls my wife, I can hear both sides of the conversation, but not the TV.
