    An ice cream man’s funeral,

with a motorcade of ice cream trucks singing out in solidarity.

The music has a sweet crescendo and leads to a delicious conclusion.

Ice cream truck music is good for running, not for dancing.

In 1945, when I heard tinkle bells of ice cream/twin pop truck I got on my bike with attached siren screaming when I pulled the chain that made go against the front tire.. other kids in our Chatham NJ neighborhood enjoyed hearing my chase, & followed along. Now nudging 88, I have more memories of the past than where I put my grocery shopping list.

This redhead and I ought to get together. I do jazz from time to time. I did some yesterday during my church service. Any time is a good time for jazz.

My favs all play on Sirius XM on channel 76: Symphony Hall. I still play trumpet at 76 and was brought up listening to Symphonic/Classical/Church Organ music. Still sing in Choirs also. Now, don’t get me wrong, in college I loved Chicago-they had brass, etc.

I would not be heartbroken if I never again heard the tinny synthesizer renditions of “La Cucaracha,” “Music Box Dancer,” “The Entertainer,” and “Turkey in the Straw,” as well as the Mister Softee jingle, that emanate from the speakers on ice cream trucks two or three times a day for ten minutes at a time around here all summer.

I kind of miss the jingling bells that Good Humor trucks had up until the 1980s or so.

One of my faves. I got into the Jazz Band in high school playing this for one of my audition pieces. The other was Nightingale in Berkeley Square. Yes, I played the same instrument as in this piece: https://www.youtube.Com/watch?v=Ixc2BNuTURM
