My CFL team is hapless, as usual. Great individuals, but having lost 7 in a row and being bumped from the playoffs after their last loss is more usual than not.
Same thing with hockey, the abuse can backfire. A Senators fan was mocking my Leafs with the old “Last time the Leafs won the Stanley Cup, the team picture was in black and white.” I told him that the last time the Senators won the Stanley Cup, the team picture was in oil! Of course, being a Senators fan, he didn’t get it
