All the luster, goodwill and valuable lessons we enjoyed over the decades have been causally tossed aside. Sometime ago Hank warned us things would get worse for Gil. He also said Kaz wasn’t going away.
The Milford (MI) Mavericks saw their playoff run end as most Milford teams due, with a first game 28-21 loss to their fellow Valley Conference member that they shared second place with, the Lakeland Eagles. It was a back and forth affair, with neither team ever leading by more than 7. A touchdown pass in the last minute gave Lakeland the victory. Milford moves into the offseason looking for that magical transfer student to show up before next season who can propel them to the title.
The early line on the Big Board has Milford a 7-point underdog. Huge money coming in to support Gil. People mortgaging their homes, selling their cars, emptying their bank accounts to get a dime down for State Champion Gil.
Where is this game taking place that it’s still broad daylight at the conclusion of a night game? In the land of the midnight sun? Milford wouldn’t have such a budget crisis if they didn’t have such massive travel expenses. And speaking of expenses, I’ve spared no expense in bringing you today’s masterpiece, Mopped Up Thorp. Well, to be more accurate, I haven’t really incurred any expense.
So, Milford was down by 9 and still had a chance to win until an end of game interception ended it? Does Henry even have the most minuscule idea of how sports work?
Trying to figure out Milford’s record before facing Valley Tech, the strip has only sighted one win when Gil wasn’t there and at least two lor three losses, so based on this they are entering the last probably 2-6 unless Cami’s trick play worked.

P2: I’d have an incredulous look also if the team with the lead’s QB spiked the ball. Was the coach trying to outdo Miami (FL)’s ?

Why spike instead of kneel down?

Does it really make sense to have a strip about a bad coach? Maybe it’s time to end it.

So much for Coach Thorp being all business. Maybe he should go back to phoning it in.

For those keeping track at home, Ben Siegel is in fact a real outside linebacker at Batavia High School in IL, class of 2024. Uniforms check out too.
This is what my life has come to, Googling the random stuff Henry throws in his strip.
