Is Biden not making sense to the American public? Big words. Need to carry a dictionary.

I can see why there are so many MAGAS. Stupid is as stupid does.

Have worked as bartender in a few neighborhood bars in Las Vegas, and, yeh, conversations do go like that…have another beer…

We’ve passed an “infection” point- half the population is infected with Republican idiocy. It’s probably been inevitable since two wildly disparate clusters of British colonies combined to sever ties to the mother country. The South never believed in democracy. It went to war to preserve slavery. When they lost that struggle, they fought for segregation. Now they depend on federal funding while they vote against “out of control government spending”. It is to weep.

The doddering old guy is using words the MAGA crowd doesn’t understand again! Must be senile.

People in their eighties don’t always dodder! Well, I do, but I’m hoping it’s only temporary….

I’m sure the People at the bar have no clear idea of what Biden is actually saying – the fact that they are at a bar in the first place precludes comprehension. Multisyllabic words tend to confuse them anyway and their natural antipathy toward intelligence does the rest…

I STILL remember the republican hopeful standing on a stage and calling Obama a “snob” because Obama wanted everyone to be given the chance for higher education during one of the presidential election cycles…

This is like the old fashioned “telephone” game when you tell someone something, and by the time it gets back to you, it’s totally different from what you said!

Jeff, you forgot the red hats.

This all started when Arab governments made war on Israel and were defeated. The Palestinians were encouraged to leave their lands by their leaders and wound up in camps for displaced persons, refugee camps, and were not allowed to be assimilated into the other Muslim societies, essentially compounding their homeless condition. These camps became breeding grounds for militants who were encouraged to be actively hostile, even though many were still allowed to go back into Israel to work and to do business. But, war after war against Israel only made more people homeless and worse conditions for refugees. Settlers came from around the world to build homes in the Palestinian territories, further denying a homeland to the original people. Even the Israeli supreme court said the settlements were not legal, but the political movements in Israel continued to encourage the settlements in the West Bank, making it less and less likely the original Palestinians would have a place in their original homeland.

So we have fault on both sides. The efforts to bring peace have failed because of Palestinian and Arab leadership refusal to accept peace and resettlement of refugees, and Israeli refusal to give up ground. I understand the position that if a person living in the West Bank is found guilty of breaking the peace, their home and orchards should be bulldozed, but I fear they are not treated fairly in the courts and settler’s interests are held in higher regard than Palestinian. So, we have fault on both sides.

Israelis are not going to find peace by killing more innocent men, women, and children in Gaza, nor will they have peace without destroying Hamas. I cannot watch the destruction of homes and businesses in Gaza knowing those families are not the ones who committed the atrocities against civilians just the other side of the fence.

I don’t pretend to have a solution to their mutual problem. Might is not going to make right.
