OK, I get that sometimes reruns are necessary. But this strip has been around for ages; why not give us something from 24 years ago instead of 4 years ago?

The ancient tradition that the world will be consumed in fire at the end of six thousand years is true. as I have heard from Hell. For the cherub with his flaming sword is hereby commanded to leave his guard at the tree of life, and when he does, the whole creation will be consumed, and appear infinite. and holy whereas it now appears finite & corrupt. This will come to pass by an improvement of sensual enjoyment. But first the notion that man has a body distinct from his soul, is to be expunged; this I shall do, by printing in the infernal method, by corrosives, which in Hell are salutary and medicinal, melting apparent surfaces away, and displaying the infinite which was hid.

    Blake was a wordy devil.

    Blake, as usual, is right.

To see a World in a Grain of SandAnd a Heaven in a Wild Flower Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand And Eternity in an hour

The amazing thing about William Blake is that he was not an aristocrat with a fancy education like most of his poetic contemporaries. He was a poor working class Brit who was truly a visionary mystic who self published his own art work and poems while also engraving illustrations for other people’s books to pay the bills. And was the author of more memorable lines than Wordsworth, Byron, and Shelly.

“There is a theory which which states that if ever anyone discovers what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened.” Douglas Adams.
