I recall years ago reading that predators have front-facing eyes, which are good for binocular vision that lets them judge distances accurately, while prey animals have side-facing eyes so they can see what’s sneaking up on them.

But most predatory birds have excellent vision. If they could read, they could read a newspaper from several hundred yards away.
