The older one gets, the more one’s bladder operates on the ‘do it now,’ principle. Sort of like the time change thing but way more frequently.

My bladder ( a interesting word) and my bowels are my alarm clock!

I have a ‘Judy’ rule, named for a friend. If I wake up in the night I just get up and pee, rather than waste time trying to determine what woke me up. That way I (generally) get more sleep since I don’t have to think very hard to do it. :-)

Pulling an all nighter used to mean staying up to cram for a test. Now it means sleeping through the night.

I probably could make it if I stopped drinking at a reasonable hour. I keep drinking until my head hits the pillow. I probably drink a quart of water between dinner and bedtime.

It’s a sad transition, when waking from a useful “woodie” led to snuggling, to.. now, trying not to wake your partner as you get up to go.

I can so relate, and that’s one alarm you don’t want to hit the snooze button on.

If that’s the case my alarm clock goes off after about 2 hours of sleep.
