There was this place in my city (I don’t think it’s open anymore) where you could go in and put stuff together for meals, take it home, refrigerate or freeze it and when you were ready to eat it, just pop it into the oven or microwave. It was already put together so it just needed to be heated.
I keep getting gift cards for these. The cost isn’t quite covered, you have to set up an account, give you financial information.. to try it and the menu is inflexible.
The ones I know are more expensive than shopping for the ingredients yourself, but if you can afford it but don’t have the cooking skills, it can be a way to eat healthier food than the typical fast-food restaurant.
We did it for a while. It really upped our cooking skills, and we often make many of the recipes years later. For us, it was a good investment in learning to prepare healthier meals.

It’s just a small, specialised grocery delivery.

I checked out one of those services. Individual meals start at $10. Out of my price range.

My meal box is called a ‘refrigerator’. Mine came in basic white, and it’s refillable with almost an infinite variety from local ‘grocery stores’.

Kinda like scanning and bagging your own groceries isn’t it?
