Peppermint Patty definitely is weird, as sheâs wearing flip flops in cold, snowy weather. One would think even she would wear boots outside in winter.
In the many decades I have read âPeanutsâ, I never realized how often Peppermint Patty is the focal point of so many story lines. When I think âPeanutsâ I think mostly of Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Lucy, and Linus. Not a bad thing, just something I just now noticed. Peppermint Patty and Marcie do add a nice quirkiness to the strip.
Sheâs channeling into âFrankensteinâ. Maybe she should read that for her assignment. Sheâs also channeling into my son, who has no problems wearing sandals in the snow.
I just thought of a great book for P.P. to read. Isnât âSnowman Is an Islandâ, from a book of Sermons by John Donne, called âDevotions Upon Emergent Occasionsâ. If you devote your book report about your theory on the living Snowman you can say your assigned book report has been Donne â and hand it in.
Sure, some days are too nice to stay inside and readâbut have you considered reading outside? Find a nice park or courtyard or something, grab a bench and read a good book while the word passes byâweather permitting, itâs one of my favorite ways to while away the hours.

Frosty the snowman was a jolly happy soul,
With a corncob pipe and a button nose
And two eyes made out of coal.

Thatâs a well thought out excuse, very complexly thought out and she created her own logic for it make sense to her.
