The German word “lager” means “to store”. Written with a capital “L” as “Lager” it becomes a noun and means “storage”. Lager beers are those that are matured at lower temperatures and over a longer time period. They are “stored” (gelagert). And therefor they are called Lager beers (Lagerbier). And now, to celebrate that some people have learned something they didn’t know before, I suggest we go for a Lager. I’m in Germany right now. Yesssss!
