The name Lucy Longbottom reminds me of two fictional characters. One is Neville Longbottom in the Harry Potter books. The other, earlier one is a Marion Longbottom who appeared in “There Is A Happy Land” by Keith Waterhouse. It was his first novel and was largely autobiographical. His next novel, also largely autobiographical, was “Billy Liar” which was so successful that it became a stage musical and a film. Keith Waterhouse wrote a column for the Daily Mirror for many years so he and Andy Capp have the Daily Mirror as a connecting point.

More like, who didn’t do it, all day.
