I once read about a detergent company (I don’t remember which one) that ran an advertising campaign in an Arabian country. The ad had two pictures – before and after. On the left was a picture of a dejected looking woman next to a pile of dirty laundry, and on the right was a picture of the same woman looking happy next to a stack of clean, folded clothes. They forgot one minor detail. Arabs read from right to left.
Yeah because most detergents and softeners reek.Can’t walk down that aisle at the grocery without covering my nose. Unfortunately the Unscented are next to the stinky.

Reminds me of later ant-acid ads showing images of stomach bloating. Advertizing has advanced in “disgusting”.

The one that got me laughing was the Tide commercial where they said, very seriously: Tide was tested on U S Government soil.
