Arlo, you have to admit it’s not the worst kind of challenge reserved for the man of the house.

In my family we decorated the tree and put the star on last.

Fun Christmas dinner game … have diners create a list of something that symbolizes Christmas. Guess what always comes out “on top”.

Also guess what’s second.

My husband and I are both only children who had the privilege of putting the Star in the top of the tree when the tree was finished. Our first Christmas together was fraught.

The place kicker/tree topper always gets noticed but where are the kudos for the Dad lying uncomfortably underneath while the spouse judges it to be straight and then has to screw it into that flimsy metal base. It takes days for your hands to recover

I always slap my Lady on the butt, it’s just playing around. She get’s me sometimes also.

It would be nice if everyone just grew up and minded their own business!

46 years into marriage to each other and my wife and I still pat each other on the butt, though we don’t get that kind of handsy in public.

And what happens if he goes wide left?

I put the (hand embroidered by me) angel on the top of the tree all the years I worked on his tree alone. The past few years he has been “helping me” and he has put it on the tree (afraid I will fall if I climb up – so he climbs up so I can worry about him).
