There’s a game played on various forums called “Corrupt a Wish” where someone makes a wish, and then the next person explains how they would grant it in such a way that it would backfire, and then continues the chain by making another wish.
What is better than a loving and loyal friendship? I can’t think of anything on a personal level Phoebe could wish for that would be better than what she already has. I await the inspiration that comes with the answer.
Marigold should almost feel ashamed and embarrassed by now that she rejected Phoebe in the beginning and was shy as a wild unicorn might be.
Because really without friendship Marigold was lost and doomed.
Now that I’m talking about it, I think about Twilight Sparkle in the beginning when she didn’t want friends but was only interested in unicorn stuff.
I have a kind of creepy theory that if Twilight didn’t find the power of friendship and was only interested in learning magic as she was, she might have ended up becoming a villain or joining the other villains because she would never have understood the real magic.
Marigold was weak without friendship and at some point even her, a unicorn would have cracked.
Other unicorns in Phoebe’s world actually aren’t shy of humans like you would be led to believe and in fact Marigold’s sister Florence said that Marigold greatly benefited from Phoebe’s friendship, so perhaps Marigold wasn’t easy to get along with before and she was insecure and lost.
This certainly shows that wishing is a serious business. Marigold wanted Phoebe to go away but Phoebe wished that Marigold would be her friend. Marigold granted the wish although, as I mentioned yesterday, she first asked “Are you sure you wouldn’t rather have some gold?” The wish did lead to genuine friendship.
i wonder if there was a grim and evil episode where mandy got another wish from the grim reaper… she probably would have done something devious to trick him into it tho.
When it comes to wishes always be sure to run them by a good lawyer. It will minimize the risk of ending up on a lily pad catching flies with your tongue.

Phoebe should wish for her animated series to finally get greenlit.

Be careful what you wish for lest you get it.

This strip regularly leaves me with a big grin, and frequently laughing like a loon. Thanks, Dana, for the “all-year” Christmas gift!
