My dog doesn’t bark at me, but I take her out regularly, walk her regularly, feed her on schedule, and give her attention, so maybe she doesn’t ever feel a need to tell me off or beg for food.

As Ogden Nash wrote, “A door is what a dog is perpetually on the wrong side of.”

I have a 9 month old basset hound, and he is still in the crazy puppy stage, but I try to enjoy every moment – every bark, every bite mark on the furniture, every time the trash can is turned over. My last basset passed on last year when he was just short of his 13th birthday. I miss him everyday, and just try to remember the barks…
