Recently finished a John Grisham audiobook, Playing for Pizza about a thoroughly unemployable former third-string quarterback who ends up playing for a semi-pro team in Parma, Italy. He doesn’t always get pizza after a game, but he does get 40K Euros for less than a year’s work, plus a furnished apartment and a car.
It’s “semi-pro” in the sense that each team’s American players get paid, but the Italian players don’t. By league rules, teams are allowed to up to 3 Americans.
I enjoyed it, except for the play-by-play of games, especially the last game they played. Not a fan of “Football Americano”, so a lot was so much “reverse the polarity of the theta radiation beam” to me. I know what things like “First and goal” and “Hail Mary” mean, but not much else.
Presumably it all made sense to fans; Grisham played football in school (college, too, maybe) and probably watches NFL games. So if you’re a football fan, you’ll likely enjoy the play-by-play, too.

How are you when opponents are present?

Arlo would be the guy the other team would like to foul.

The average yearly salary in the NBA is around $8.5M.
By comparison, Arlo would be worth $15-20k for pushing out the racks of practice balls for the pre-game shootaround.

That’s all I’m asking for as a back-up quarterback for the Vikings.

OK, Christmas was a week ago…and Arlo is playing basketball in the driveway, with greenery all around and he is not wearing a coat. Miraculous.
