i know the feeling VERY well…

Haha – The memories of when that happens to me.

Just this last weekend I played Uno with some of my children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Hilarity ensued! And no one got turned over!

No problem for me- I have always declined the invitation to play.

I used to play with my students, but changed the object of the game. The goal was to keep the game going as long as possible. You could only use your mean cards if you had no other play. They grew to love it. We recorded the playing times with dates and names of who were the last ones still in.

Poor John. He needs to take shell-ter……

I think I could use a crash course in game language, Uno rules and the like to understand this strip. :-/

You think she would have learned by now…

UNO game with 8 people. One of those 8 always “HAD” to win at everything. We gained up on him and passed cards to one another all night long to stack the deck against him. Draw 4’s, skips and so on. By the time her has a massive hand of cards and everyone else was down to two or three, he finally caught on. He threw the cards across the room and stormed off. We gathered the cards and played correctly without him. Next time we all got together to play, he asked to join. He told us he didn’t care if he won or lost, he had learned his lesson. He didn’t win, but he didn’t lose either. The rest of us figured we won over all!

Nobody likes drawing four.

I thought birds would have trouble handling the cards, then I thought about the snake.

I take it the turtle on the right was the game table.

I have no idea what this means.

….only a card game ……..people!!!!!!!

You just cannot teach the rules to egocentric mainiacs.

Board games can be an effective way to teach self control and magnanimity, if a couple of the participants set a good example. I suggest a less random game than Uno, so that the congratulations have some significance.

Then don’t include her next time! ☺️

If he can’t turn John right side up, he should at least cover his underside with a blanket for the sake of modesty.

I see that “Bird” is definitely referred to as “her”. Other times you get the impression that Bird is male. Early “B.C.” had her as a girl, to the point where John got jealous when she started seeing a pelican.

Apparently it’s worse than Monopoly for destroying family bonds.

It’s just a Game!
